The Kremlin reacted to the coup d’etat which took place on September 30 in Burkina Faso. The spokesperson for the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, hoped this Monday, October 03, 2022, that the situation would normalize in the country and that everything would return to the “framework of legitimacy”.

The country of Vladimir Putin reacted to the putsch which overthrew Paul-Henri Damiba. Through the voice of the Russian President’s spokesman, Russia hopes for a return to « order » as soon as possible after the coup.

“We would like the situation in Burkina Faso to stabilize as quickly as possible,” spokesman for the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, told journalists on October 3 during his daily briefing . He wished « that it be possible to ensure total order in this country and that everything returns as quickly as possible within the framework of legitimacy ».

And to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to call on all Burkinabè politicians “to exercise restraint in order to maintain security”.

 Several people took to the streets to support the new authorities,for three days. They waved Russian flags and called on Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the new President, to break the country’s military cooperation with France,the former colony.

As was the French institute in Bobo-dioulasso,The French ambassy in Burkina was ransacked.
