Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré ,the president of Transition will be invested on October 21

The Constitutional Council announced on Wednesday October 19, 2022 the investiture of the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré on Friday October 21, 2022.

Transition President Ibrhaim Traoré will be invested by the Constitutional Council on Friday, October 21, 2022. This investiture follows the work of the national meetings on October 14, 2022.

The participants in the national assizes had indicated that the President of the Transition is invested by the Constitutional Council in accordance with article 6 of the Transition Charter.

During the investiture ceremony, the President of the transition takes the following oath: “I swear before the people of Burkina Faso and on my honor to preserve, respect, enforce and defend the Constitution, the Charter of the transition and the laws, to do everything possible to guarantee justice for all the inhabitants of Burkina Faso”.

The Constitutional Council also took note of the resignation from power by Paul-Henri Damiba following the coup perpetrated by Captain Ibrahim Traoré and his comrades on September 30, 2022.
