Burkina Faso: terrorism, kidnapped Marianite nun Sr Suellen Tennyson has been freed by her captors

 



Mgr Théophile Naré, Bishop of Kaya in a press release informs public opinion of the release of the Marianite nun Sr Suellen Tennyson by her kidnappers.

“It is with great joy and gratitude to God that we inform everyone that Sr Suellen Marianite Sr Tennyson kidnapped in Yalgo on the night of April 4 to Tuesday April 5, 2022 by kidnappers, has been released by her kidnappers” says the note.

The statement reassures the public that the 83-year-old Marianite nun of American nationality is in a safe place and enjoys good health. The diocese also specifies that it has “no information on the conditions of release”.

Sr Suellen Tennyson is a member of the Congregation of Marianite Sisters of the Holy Cross. She has been serving at Yalgo since 2014 and had been abducted by unidentified gunmen and taken to an unknown destination.

The kidnappers at the time had vandalized the halls of the community, and sabotaged the vehicle they attempted to take away.
